Last night I had a dream where I was working at Staples again. It cut in and out of scenes of the workday.

• I had my old boss talking with me about how she was glad that I was working with her again as I signed some paperwork.
• Have a brief meeting with my team. 
• Ringing out a customer. 
• Closing the store- counting down registers, doing the deposits, having my staff clean and block. And then alarming the system. 

It has been over 4 years since I worked at Staples and while I liked most of the people I worked with and interacting with most customers, I don't miss that job. I have a regular schedule with normal days off. I rarely have to deal with work things after I have left the office. It is so much easier for me to take vacation or even just a normal sick day. I am not working 50, 60 or 70 hours weeks. 

Overall my life has gotten so much better since leaving retail. But I was very lucky that I found the job that I am at now. I couldn't imagine trying to start a family while still there. 

So while a can now look back at that time and miss it a little, I don't miss enough to feel the need to go back.
